Start your day by waking up in the master bedroom–perched atop the third floor–and taking in the views of the turquoise waters of the Atlantic ocean. When you’re ready to greet the day, just open the doors onto the huge sundeck and sip your coffee, while enjoying the refreshing ocean breeze and the sounds of gently lapping waves on the beach below. After you’ve had enough time to yourself, you can wake the rest of the guests by starting breakfast in the modern, fully appointed kitchen. Don’t feel like cooking? It’s a short distance to several excellent restaurants that will be happy to do the cooking for you.
After breakfast, head down and take in the warm rays of the sun on one of the most pristine stretches of beach in all of Central Florida. Unlike neighboring Daytona Beach, there is no driving on the beaches in Flagler County. For the more adventurous members of the group, there are four bicycles, surf boards, paddle boards, and boogie boards that are free for the use of guests.
Whatever your beach activity of choice, be sure too look around once in a while for dolphins playing in the waves, osprey flying overhead clasping wriggling fish, and pelicans dive-bombing schools of bait! All of which are common sites on our beach. Less common–but still seen regularly–are sea turtles and manatees. And for the truly lucky, Flagler Beach is one of the only places in Florida where there are whale sightings! While it can’t be called common, every year a few lucky people in the area spot migrating Right Whales as they pass so close to the beach that they can be seen easily from shore.
When you’re ready to come in from your relaxing day at the beach, you can send the kids upstairs to the game-room to play billiards, shuffleboard or foosball, while the adults head downstairs for a cool drink on the large, shady patio. The downstairs patio is the perfect place to sit and relax, and features a large hot-tub, as well as a fire-pit and a wet-bar, all surrounded by plenty of comfortable places to sit and relax.
When you’re ready to clean up and head out for the evening, it’s a short trip (less than a mile) up A1A to downtown Flagler Beach. The downtown area is laid-back and friendly, and has plenty of shops, galleries, restaurants and bars (many with live music), all situated around the historic Flagler Beach Pier, which has a restaurant and bar of its own that is literally over the water.
